Lewis Hamilton was forced to take evasive action to avoid a horrific crash during second practice at the Australian Grand Prix.
Hamilton was barrelling down the start-finish straight when he came across Franco Colapinto, who was driving slowly on the racing line.
The Alpine driver was struck by a gear issue as he rounded the final corner, but instead of pulling to the right and off the racing line, he stayed put while dawdling at a low speed.
Hamilton had a very limited window to move out of the way, but did so in time to avoid a major collision.
“Ah, there was a car going crazy slow on the pit straight,” Hamilton declared over team radio.
The stewards were far from impressed with Colapinto’s driving and placed the Argentine under investigation.
