If there was ever a doubt that golf can be one of the strangest sports around, look no further than what happened to Sebastian Munoz on Thursday.

The LIV and PGA Tour winner, like his fellow tour pros, routinely smashes golf balls over 300 yards through the air and strikes irons with laser-like precision. Yet, he’s still capable of missing a one-inch putt. That’s right, one inch.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Day 1 of the LIV Hong Kong event. Munoz left his birdie effort on the edge, walked up to tap in for par and managed to completely whiff. He then tapped in for one of the year’s most disappointing and bizarre bogeys. Have a look:

Ouch. Of course, in your normal game, someone would have said, “Don’t worry, that was good.” But professional golf is not your normal game.

And these guys are not normal players. Despite the blunder, Munoz still shot five under par and is tied for 10th after the first round, five shots behind Carlos Ortiz. But it’s hard to imagine he won’t be thinking about that little miss—and its potential big financial repercussions—when he goes to sleep tonight.
