Reuben Garrick pots the conversion as Fogarty takes a rest.

Kaeo Weekes watched time and time again as opponents battled against Jamal Fogarty spiral bombs last year, but now he’s on the end of them and having a nightmare.

He had about five grabs at that one and the referee says he knocked it backwards every time.

Haumole Olakau’atu is penalised for rag-dolling Tom Starling head-first into the ground and the Raiders send it out to the right again.

Xavier Savage pulls off a stunning leap and grounds the ball out on the wing.

He gets up shrugging as to whether the grounding is legitimate, as referee Liam Kennedy points to the spot, but the bunker has to overturn as replays show him grounding it on the touch in-goal line.

Hudson Young goes the chip and chase. He’s taken out illegally (and it may have been a trip by Ben Trbojevic) but in the meantime Xavier Savage pulls off a glorious pick-up and dives over on the right wing.

What a play by the Raiders.

Ethan Sanders hooks his conversion and the Raiders lead 22-14.

Pure power and aggression earn the Raiders a repeat set, they get into good field position and put it through the hands, and Xavier Savage is just too strong out on the right.

Tom Trbojevic complains to the referee, and Kaeo Weeks did catch a ball on the inside shoulder of a decoy, but no-one was impeded.

As the Sea Eagles kick off to start the second half, Tom Trbojevic heads over to the sideline to get a bit of a rub and some ointment on his hamstring.

He’s coming back onto the field, but that’s not exactly what you want to see considering his injury history.

Kaeo Weekes is bamboozled by a Jamal Fogarty spiral bomb and eventually takes it dead in the end as the siren sounds at Brooky.

It was an incredibly hot start for the Sea Eagles, but the Raiders have dragged them back in rank conditions.

Definitely don’t count the 2025 minor premiers out, but the loss of Josh Papali’i to a head knock won’t help.

Lehi Hopoate fumbles an Ethan Sanders bomb in the wet. Ethan Strange gets through and toes it ahead.

The ball skids and settle tantalisingly close to the corner post with Xavier Savage in pursuit, but he can’t pick it up cleanly and knocks on.

That would have completely changed the complexion of this game heading into half-time.

I was sure he was going to bounce over and it would be a double movement, but credit to him for not lifting his arm again.

Hudson Young hits a short ball hard and drops it before Kaeo Weekes follows to ground the ball.

Young complains to the referee, saying he was hit early by Reuben Garrick, but the bunker replays show Garrick timed it perfectly and Young knocked on of his own accord.

The tempers flare after a bit of captain-on-captain violence with Joe Tapine lifting Tom Trbojevic and driving him into the ground.

Haumole Olakau’atu charges in to back up Turbo, and then the players come from everywhere.

No-one is sent to the sin-bin, but a replay shows Corey Horsburgh, who was also in the tackle, took a swipe at the head of Olakau’atu as he leant down to check on Trbojevic.
