Marc Marquez says MotoGP will remain part of his life after retirement, but insists he hasn’t yet considered becoming a team owner.
The reigning champion was asked about his post-racing future during the Thai season opener at Buriram.
F1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are among those to have been linked with acquiring a MotoGP team under the new Liberty Media era.
But so far, the only team to have changed hands is Tech3, which was sold to a consortium headed by ex-F1 team boss Guenther Steiner.
Asked whether owning a MotoGP team could be part of his own future, Marc Marquez said his focus remains entirely on racing – for now.

“At the moment, no, because I’m fully focused on riding,” he said.
“If you’re a rider, your life is fully focused on riding.
“In the future, you never know.
“I will finish my career, sooner or later, and then I will decide.
“But I know that MotoGP and motorcycles are part of my life and will remain a part of my life.”
Of the current MotoGP grid, the VR46 (Valentino Rossi) and LCR (Lucio Cecchinello) teams are both owned by former grand prix riders.

Gresini, where Marc Marquez raced alongside brother Alex in 2024, was founded by the late Fausto Gresini and is now owned by his wife Nadia Padovani.
