Pironman 5 Pro Max is the latest Raspberry Pi 5 case by SunFounder. The new enclosure adds a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 5MP camera module, a mount suitable for Raspberry Pi Camera Modules, stereo speakers, a USB microphone, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Besides the new features, its design is close to the Pironman 5 Max we reviewed with a Raspberry Pi 5, an NVMe SSD, and an Hailo-8 AI accelerator last June. That means it keeps black aluminum and semi-transparent black acrylic panels, offers two M.2 PCIe slots, an IR receiver, a power button, and the Tap-to-Wake feature for the OLED information display.

Pironman 5 Pro Max advanced Raspberry Pi 5 case

Raspberry Pi 5 case touchscreen display cameraThe Pironman 5 Pro Max enclosure is compatible with Raspberry Pi OS (Trixie), Ubuntu 25.04/25.10 Desktop/Server, Kali Linux, Home Assistant OS 16.3, Homebridge bookworm, and Umbreal OS 1.5. As with previous models, you’ll need to run raspi-config for configuration and install the pironman5 module script to handle features like RGB displays, OLED, the power button, and so on. You’ll find detailed instructions for hardware installation and software configuration on the documentation website.

Pironman 5 cases are all pretty neat, albeit overengineered, especially when it comes to cooling.  The Pironman 5 Pro Max makes it easier to run computer vision applications,  voice-enabled AI assistants, and video conferencing software. I played around with Hailo-8 computer vision samples using the Pironman 5 Max, but I had to use my own camera and mount, while it’s now integrated into the new Pro Max case and ready to use after installation.

As SunFounder adds more and more features, the price of their Pironman 5 case creeps up. The Pironman 5 Pro Max starts at $145.99 on Amazon and the SunFounder store, and should soon be listed on the company’s AliExpress store. It ships with all accessories listed in the specs, including the 4.3-inch display, two speakers, USB microphone, and 5MP camera module, but you can also select other cameras (e.g., Raspberry Pi AI camera), an RTL-SDR dongle, an Hailo-8L AI accelerator, and more options.
