Shock jock Kyle Sandilands remains in Australia despite the implosion of his relationship with broadcast partner Jackie O Henderson and the subsequent dumping of their $100 million radio show on KIIS.

Sandilands has been known in the past for quitting Australia whenever media scrutiny around him intensifies, the radio star usually choosing his LA residence as a base until things blow over back home.

He purchased the Holmby Hills residence for just under $5 million years ago and it features six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

The Holmby Hills home is nestled among celebrity neighbours like Taylor Swift, Simon Cowell, Joe Jonas, Kylie Jenner, and Jennifer Lawrence.

But the LA bolthole has been denied to Sandilands while his radio career collapses around him thanks, of all things, to his television commitments, industry insiders say.

Sandilands contract with Channel 7 as a judge on Australian Idol means he must remain in Australia while live shows are being filmed.

“When things get messy here, Kyle’s usual move is to jump on a plane and wait for the headlines to die down,” one insider claimed to the Daily Mail.

Sandilands’s inability to visit LA comes as KIIS FM parent company ARN torpedoed The Kyle and Jackie O Show after Henderson claimed she could no longer work with her co-star.

An ARN statement claimed Henderson would not be returning to the show and Sandilands had been suspended due to misconduct. He has 14 days to remedy the situation, the statement read.

The show’s cancellation stemmed from criticism levelled at Henderson by Sandilands while live on air at the end of February.

During the broadcast, Sandilands criticised Henderson’s interest in astrology and said everyone at the show thought her work performance had been slipping.

Henderson herself is no stranger to LA either, having stayed with Sandilands at another property just 18 months ago.

Jackie O Henderson left The Kyle and Jackie O Show and never came back.

Sandilands’s own LA home sits just a couple of suburbs away from a sprawling complex he and Henderson rented together while broadcasting from the US in 2024.

The opulent eight-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills’ prestigious Trousdale Place was home to the Aussie radio duo’s show while they visited the US for newsreader Brooklyn Ross’ wedding to his partner Damien Dirienzo.

American reality television personality and real estate broker Kendra Wilkinson revealed the property was valued at US$29m at the time, making it one of the most sought-after estates in the Hollywood Hills.

The luxurious mansion, costing $80,000 (US$55,000) a month to rent, was patrolled by Sandilands’s security team to ensure his family’s safety.

The mansion, prominently featured on VRBO, offers some of the best views in Beverly Hills, stretching from downtown Los Angeles to Century City and Catalina Island.

Its design includes floor-to-ceiling French doors that invite ample natural light and promote an ideal indoor-outdoor flow.
