Tears were flowing on the field and in the stands at Tokyo Dome on Sunday afternoon.
Taiwan had just completed a wild and dramatic 5-4 win over South Korea in extra innings at the World Baseball Classic, and the players were in the middle of the diamond alternating between wiping away tears and enveloping each other in big hugs.
In the stands, many of the Taiwanese fans who had packed the Big Egg throughout the Pool C games were either crying, cheering, waving flags, snapping photos or all of the above simultaneously.
