Taylor Swift Fans ‘Can’t Process’ Rock Singer’s Bold Claim About Her originally appeared on Parade.

Danny O’Donoghue has a bold claim to make about Taylor Swift: she’s a Scripty.

The Script’s frontman shared a video on the band’s official TikTok account this week, where he shared a sweet story from backstage during the Red Tour, when he surprised her London audience onstage to perform “Breakeven.”

He sat on a weathered park bench, with green brush climbing over the stone wall behind him, as he began the video, “Did you know that Taylor Swift is a fan of the band?”

“…we were doing a duet in the O2, and we were talking about lyrics,” he recalled, leading her to reportedly admit to him that one of her favorite lyrics, at least when she was 24, comes from one of the group’s songs, “If You Ever Come Back.”

“There’s a lyric in it, which is, ‘I wish I could still wish it was over and I wish I could still give you a hard time.’ Which means that if you were longing to be back in that relationship, even though it was unhappy, right now, I’d give anything to be back in that unhappy relationship,” he explained.

“And, you know, I’m a Swiftie,” he concluded. “But I guess Taylor’s a Scripty.”

Fans were delighted by the lore, with several exclaiming, “my two worlds colliding???”

“this is how you get my attention, continue,” another quipped, while others affirmed they “Love stories like this.”

“”😳😳 i still can t process this ❤️❤️❤️,” someone else admitted.

“Scriptys 🤝 Swifties,” someone else joked, as another wrote, “TS 🤝 TS.”

As you might expect, many called for a reunion between the two artists, with one calling for a new collaboration and others suggesting that Swift’s “Right Where You Left Me” would mash up perfectly with “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.”
