Monday, March 9 update: NFL free agency is officially – well, sort of – open.

Beginning at noon on Monday, unrestricted free agents can enter negotiations and agree to terms with any team around the NFL. An annual reminder: Those contracts, if they’re agreed to with another team, can’t become official until after 4 p.m. Wednesday, which is the start of the new league year.

We’ll keep you up to date right here on all the moves involving the Colts in the coming days. Another reminder, though: We won’t have updates on players the Colts sign until those moves become official.

Last week, the Colts placed the transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones, which means a few things to watch over the next few days. The main thing: Jones can negotiate offer sheets with other teams in addition to the Colts, and if he agrees to an offer sheet with another team, the Colts would have five days to match that offer and keep him in Indianapolis.

Just before free agency opened on Monday, the Colts re-signed kicker Blake Grupe. Grupe made all 11 of his field goals and all 10 of his PATs – and hit that memorable franchise record 60-yard field goal against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15 – over his five games with the Colts in 2025.

There are serveral other Colts unrestricted free agents we’ll be monitoring this week, too. The full list:
