Upcoming maintenance works on Smithfield Road-Ballarat Road at and near the Maribyrnong River Bridge in Kensington will impact riders later this month and during April.

 

The inbound lanes over the bridge will be impacted between 8pm and 6am, including weekends as works close the lanes on 15 nights over about a month.

 

Electronic message signs are displayed along the road to communicate advanced notice of the works, road, lane and footpath closures, and detours.

 

While the Smithfield Road shared path will remain open along the Racecourse, the bridge crossing on the Flemington Road crossing will be closed at times.

 

Riders could utilise the footpath on the opposite side of the bridge.

 

Using the path on the old Stock Bridge just down-stream might be the safest option.

 

Buses and emergency services including ambulance and police vehicles will be granted access through the site during the works by traffic controllers.
