Fight Announcement of the Week:
I won’t beat around the bush — UFC White House fight card was FINALLY released.
This Past Week in MMA History:
UFC 235: Jones vs. Smith – March 2, 2019
Jon Jones almost lost his title to Anthony Smith because he illegally kneed “Lionheart” in the dome — thankfully for Jones, Smith continued.
Ben Askren made his long-awaited UFC debut on this card against Robbie Lawler, and it was pretty insane to say the least.
Cody Garbrandt suffered his third straight knockout loss on this card, too.
UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya – March 3, 2018
Cris Cyborg scored her second title defense by stopping Yana Kunitskaya in the first round.
In the co-main event, Brian Ortega became the first fighter to knock out Frankie Edgar
Also on the card, Sean O’Malley beat Andre Soukhamthath, who had the worst fight IQ in UFC history.
UFC on Fuel TV: Silva vs. Stann – March 3, 2013
In one of the best fights of 2013, Wanderlei Silva knocked out Brian Stann in Japan.
UFC 68: The Uprising – March 3, 2007
At 43-years old, Randy Couture came out of retirement to beat Tim Sylvia, which made him a three-time UFC Heavyweight Champion and the oldest champion in the promotion’s history
UFC 285: Jones vs. Gane – March 4, 2023
Jon Jones became the UFC Heavyweight champion three years ago when he ran through Ciryl Gane in two minutes.
Alexa Grasso pulled off a massive upset in the co-main event when she tapped Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC Flyweight title.
Bo Nickal also made his UFC debut at UFC 285
UFC 209: Woodley vs. Thompson 2 – March 4, 2017
The rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson went down at UFC 209 — and it was one of the worst title fights in UFC history

Yeah, I’m not embedding the video, although Alistair Overeem knocked out Mark Hunt on the card.
UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz – March 5, 2016
Nate Diaz “shook up the world” back in 2016 when he tapped Conor McGregor on short notice.
In the co-main event, Miesha Tate tapped out Holly Holm to win the Bantamweight title
UFC 259: Błachowicz vs. Adesanya – March 6, 2021
Israel Adesanya’s hopes of being a “champ-champ” got ruined when he lost a unanimous decision to the bigger Jan Blachowicz.
On the same card, Aljamain Sterling became the first fighter in UFC history to win a championship by disqualification when Petr Yan illegally kneed him in the face.
UFC 248: Adesanya vs. Romero – March 7, 2020
UFC 248’s main event absolutely sucked, but the co-main event is one of the best fights in UFC history as Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk beat the life out of each other.
