TRIPLE Eight is full steam ahead in the mission to rebuild Broc Feeney’s Red Bull Ampol Mustang following a heavy crash on Sunday at Albert Park, in no small part thanks to the 29-time race winner’s father.

Feeney drew criticism from the likes of Chaz Mostert for his decision to stay on the throttle after being spun during first-corner carnage, with the #88 swinging back across the track and into the path of Cooper Murray and Zach Bates.

While Supercars’ next round isn’t until April 10-12, the nature of sea-freighting cars to New Zealand means the repair deadline is tight given shipping will take place next week.

In updating fans on the state of the Feeney Ford, Triple Eight team manager Mark Dutton revealed some unseen heroics by Broc’s father Paul.

“Paul actually jumped in the truck to get this back sooner, so we had two truckies swap out halfway through so that the car got back sooner,” said Dutton.

Both Erebus Motorsport and Matt Stone Racing have expressed confidence that their Murray- and Bates-driven Camaros will be quickly repairable.
