The Blackhawks did not get good news on Oliver Moore.

Following Monday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Mammoth, Hawks coach Jeff Blashill said Moore will miss significant time and that the team will know more about the young forward’s prognosis in a few weeks. A first-round pick in the 2023 draft, Moore crashed into the boards during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Stars. He was tangled up with Dallas center Colin Blackwell, slid into the boards and skated gingerly off the ice following the first-period goal by Sam Rinzel.

“We’ll reevaluate as we go through the next month,” Blashill said.

Blashill’s revelation late Monday means it’s possible Moore has played his last game of the 2025-26 season. The Hawks’ season ends April 15, which would give Moore just over a month to return and continue his development at the NHL level.

In 51 games, Moore has five goals and 14 assists.
