The US has insisted that actions by it and Israel have reduced the ability of Iran to fight. Donald Trump on Wednesday, US time, said the war was “going great” adding “any time I want it to end, it will end”.

Four people were injured as drones hit close to Dubai’s airport while three ships have sustained damage in or near the strait.

There are reports an internal US report has found a US missile did indeed flatten a school in Iran that killed 175 people, mostly children. That’s despite Mr Trump suggesting Iran may have bombed the school itself with a missile it reportedly doesn’t have.

A Democratic Senator who had a closed door briefing on the conflict said the White House’s goals were “incoherent” and seemed to be mostly about blowing things up which the Iranians could then rebuild which would lead to more bombing and an “endless war”.

Meanwhile, Iran has seemingly pulled out of the World Cup saying it cannot send players to the US, which is a co-host, after the US killed its Supreme Leader.
