The 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship continues into its second round with the 69-man field jockeying for position atop the leaderboard with hopes of qualifying for the second round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs by the end of the weekend. While there is no cut at the conclusion of play Friday in Memphis, Tennessee, golfers can absolutely play their way out of the tournament, and subsequently, next week’s BMW Championship, which will only feature the top 50 remaining players in the field.
Akshay Bhatia opened play going way low by posting a 62, While he only held a one-shot lead entering Round 2 at TPC Southwind, Bhatia is ahead by five shots on world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who entered yet another tournament as the overwhelming favorite. Tommy Fleetwood is one shot back of Bhatia while still seeking his first win on the PGA Tour with Justin Rose, Si Woo Kim, Russell Henley, Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa among the other notable names who got off to a hot start in Memphis.
