Adding more salt into the wounds after the Broncos suffered their second loss of the 2026 season, Reynolds sustained a rib injury, which is likely to rule him out for at least one week – if not more.

Speaking to reporters in Thursday’s post-game press conference, Reynolds didn’t give too much away on whether he will play next week.

“It’s alright. A little bit sore. But I put some ice on it,” he said.

When pressed if he would be good to go in Round 3, Reynolds said he would see Brisbane’s medical staff on the weekend and “go from there”.

The incident occured after a crunching hit from opposing back-rower Kitione Kautoga.

Fellow veteran Ben Hunt is the obvious player to replace him in the halves alongside five-eighth Ezra Mam, while recruit Thomas Duffy is also a potential option.
