The Denver Broncos lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, and compared to where they were under Nathaniel Hackett, head coach Sean Payton has taken them a long way. In three years, he’s taken the Broncos from not being a playoff contender to the top seed in the AFC after a 14-win campaign. For Payton, this was the turnaround of the culture that he promised when he was hired.
So if a pundit believes that the Broncos’ Super Bowl window is still open, it would be wise to believe them. NFL Network analyst Adam Rank believes the Super Bowl window for the Broncos, Chicago Bears, and the Jacksonville Jaguars is wide open. Ranks’ belief in the Broncos starts with rising third-year quarterback Bo Nix, whom he believes over-promised with a B-list wide receiver room. He believes that with an improved wide receiver room, it will take Denver over the hump.
