After its 90th-anniversary reveal last month, the Vector-inspired adventure watch is now available in strictly limited numbers

Following its initial announcement in February, Suunto has officially opened sales for the Vertical 2 Titanium Limited Edition this week.

The outdoor watch release marks 90 years since the Finnish brand’s founding in 1936, and the production run is capped at a symbolic 1,936 units worldwide.

As we covered during its initial reveal, this special edition isn’t about a spec bump; it’s mostly just a tribute to the 1998 Suunto Vector.

The watch features the iconic yellow-and-black colorway that defined a generation of ‘ABC’ mountain watches, paired with a custom digital watch face that mimics the LCD display of its predecessor.

Underneath the retro styling, the hardware remains Suunto’s most capable to date. You’re getting the same 1.5-inch AMOLED display and solar charging capabilities found on the standard Vertical 2, which launched late last year.

It also retains its 65-hour GPS battery life (extendable to 250 hours in Tour mode) and a built-in LED flashlight for emergency navigation.

The $799/€799 price tag includes more than just the watch; Suunto is shipping each limited unit in a gift box featuring an MC-2 mirror compass and a 90th-anniversary magnet.

The Wareable take: A collector’s piece for the field

Suunto is smartly leveraging its history to stand out in a crowded market. While the internal tech is a familiar refresher of the Vertical 2, the Vector aesthetic hits a nostalgic nerve for serious mountaineers.
