Emma Chamberlain‘s platinum pixie is no more.
After over a year of keeping her blond hair strictly above her ears, the 24-year-old multihyphenate was seen with a bleached baby mullet on Wednesday night during her guest appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Here, short, finely cut layers framed her face as longer pieces reached down the back of her neck, curling under her ears. A washed silver tone protruded from her dark brown roots, which mimicked the murky hue of her eye shadow. The funky style was imagined by artist Frank Gil, otherwise known as Fabulous Frank on Instagram. Gil has been managing Chamberlain’s pixie since he first collaborated with the influencer for the 97th annual Oscars in March 2025. Meanwhile, Anthony Vincent Ronquillo has handled her coloring.
“Emma’s hair from ‘The Tonight Show’ is a product of the last year I’ve worked with her. Each haircut evolves from the last. Whenever we consult, we sort decide what we want to remove and what we want to keep,” Gil told WWD in an exclusive comment.
He continued: “On this last cut, the fringe went very short (actually the shortest we’ve gone), while leaving some movement and contrast with the lengths in the back and sides. We never firmly decided ‘it’s gonna be a mullet,’ it more or less just happened organically. We liked whatever was happening in the back, so we exaggerated those pieces. Very reminiscent of a bonsai tree if I had to compare haha. After getting to know Emma in the last year, her method of style is very in the moment. Her haircuts follow the same pattern, embracing the now and not overthinking it.”

A closer look at Emma Chamberlain’s makeup.
Chamberlain’s makeup settled somewhere between ’90s minimalism and grunge, comprised of olive, beige and charcoal tones on her eyes and a pale, cool-toned complexion. Her cheeks were dotted with the faintest bit of pink blush, while her lips were lined with a caramel pencil and filled with a rose-taupe gloss. Chamberlain’s visage was, for the most part, matte, except for the glassy finish of her gloss.
Dressed in a yellow blouse with shoulder pads, a patent leather pencil skirt, burgundy opera gloves and matching velvet mary jane pumps, the Chamberlain Coffee founder was likely styled by her longtime collaborator, Jared Ellner. WWD has reached out to Ellner for confirmation.

The baby mullet has been a popular cut among the upper echelons of Hollywood lately, with Jacob Elordi, Glen Powell and Connor Storrie first modeling the hairstyle on the Golden Globes carpet in January. Hairdresser and men’s groomer Candice Birns, whose client list includes Storrie and Harry Styles, previously described the style to WWD as “soft or less aggressive” — a modest “Euro mullet,” if you will.
