Abby Hopkins has been appointed as the new Announcer & Operations Manager at SCA’s Hit 101.3 on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Career-wise, Abby says it’s a huge ‘pinch me’ moment. Literally, a dream role, at her dream station.

Sharing her excitement on LinkedIn, the former Nowra-based ARN brekky announcer and digital specialist said there’s something very special about broadcasting to the same community you grew up in.

“From being the kid calling Brad Wood for prizes and laughing along with Bree & Daniel Gawned, to 3+ years of regional breakfast, it’s been a whirlwind journey to get back to the station that started it all for me.”

“I spent years watching the magic of Nic Kelly, Michael Whittington, Jimi Love, Bobby Peters and Mike Duncan in action. Their talent was what kept me pushing for this.”

“We are all aware that in the current radio landscape, a job offer like this doesn’t come easy. To be offered such an incredible role is something I do not take for granted.”

“A huge thank you to Mike Crowhurst and Jase Allen, plus my mentor Kieran Hayes, for the belief and the opportunity. I am extremely excited to push myself, hone my craft on a music workday shift, and get stuck into the Ops side of the business.”
