Robert Irwin is hosting a fresh spin-off of a hugely popular reality series, according to new reports.
According to the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old conservationist is expanding his TV credentials with a major role on Dancing With The Stars – The Next Pro, which is currently filming in Queensland.
The series is reportedly a Disney/BBC production, and features dance hopefuls who are auditioning for a spot on the US Dancing With The Stars.
“It’s going to feel a little bit like Big Brother meets Dancing With The Stars,” a source told the Mail.
“The dancers will be living together, training together and competing week by week while viewers get to see everything happening behind the scenes.”
Irwin was an easy choice, according to the insider, as he “has become incredibly popular with American audiences.”
It comes after the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! host took out top spot himself in the dancing competition alongside his pro partner Witney Carson last year.
And success on the hit show runs in the family: his sister, Bindi, collected the mirrorball trophy herself back in 2015.
After being announced as the winner last year, Irwin made a sweet nod to his sibling during an emotional moment on stage.
“My sister said it best: thank you for changing my life,” he said, in floods of tears.
Meanwhile, it appears to have been a busy few weeks for the wildlife warrior, who delighted festivalgoers at Laneway in Perth last month by popping up on stage during Role Model’s performance.
Irwin took on the title of the US singer’s famous “Sally” from hit song When The Wine Runs Out, walking out on stage in his iconic khaki Australia Zoo uniform after he asked: “Where’s my Sally tonight?”
