An image that appears to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the sacked UK ambassador to Washington, Peter Mandelson, with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been uncovered in the latest document dump released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The photograph is the first known image of the trio together and shows the former prince and Lord Mandelson wearing bathrobes while sitting around a wooden table with Epstein.

While no date or location for the image is given, British news outlet ITV has reported that the photo was taken at Martha’s Vineyard in the US.

The files released on January 30 contained millions of documents, which means that new information is still emerging.

There is no suggestion that appearing in the files implies any wrongdoing.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and Lord Mandelson have both been arrested on suspicion of misconduct while in public office over their dealings with the convicted sex offender.

Both have since been released but remain under investigation.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in dramatic fashion last month from his new home on the King’s Sandringham Estate.

Andrew, the Queen and the monarchy’s darkest hour

It will be up to King Charles to shepherd his family’s institution through its darkest hour. But could his own mother have done more to snuff out this crisis before he inherited it?

He was taken in for questioning for more than 10 hours and the allegations relate to his time as UK Trade Envoy between 2001 and 2011, in which he is alleged to have shared confidential information with Epstein.

Lord Mandelson was sacked as the UK ambassador to Washington in September, after it emerged that he had sent supportive emails to Epstein as he faced charges for sex offences in 2008.

He was also taken into custody last month for allegedly sharing market sensitive government information with Epstein while in office.

Images of him standing in his underwear have also been released in the Epstein files.

Both Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Lord Mandelson have denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been accused of having sex with the late Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager. He settled a civil case brought by Giuffre for an undisclosed sum and no admission of guilt.

In the first release of the Epstein files, a photograph emerged of Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling on all fours over a female lying on the ground.

He has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing.
