NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s tennis team picked up their fourth straight win as they edged Chattanooga 4-3 Friday afternoon at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex.

The Bruins posted the early 1-0 lead as they won two of the three doubles matches.  At one, Sabi Roi/Stefan Vedovelli defeated Cortland Grove/Jakub Jupa 6-4.  Then at two, Will Ecklund/Charlie Robin beat Julian Franzmann/Kristof Kincses 6-4.  The match at number three was unfinished.

In singles, Belmont earned victories at positions three, four and five.  At three, Roi won in straight sets over Martin Delnido 6-4, 6-3.  Then at five, Bautista Durrels Rojo defeated Kristof Kincses 6-3, 6-4. 

Morgan Woodson clinched the victory for BU as he outlasted Cortland Grove in three sets: 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

The men’s tennis team (6-7) is back in action next Saturday, March 21 as they open Horizon League play at Tennessee State.  The match is set for 2:00pm.
