Ontario Cycling Sport Performance

The Sport Performance Department is focused on athlete and coach development with specific efforts towards transitioning athletes into Team Canada representation and achieving international competition success.  Training and competition opportunities are provided across Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.  These include the Ontario Track Academy, the Ontario BMX Academy, an annual winter endurance camp in Spain, annual mountain bike camp in Victoria, BC, and Team Ontario representation at all Canadian Championship events.

Through partnership with the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, our Targeted Athlete Program provides identified athletes with sport science support including physiological testing, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and mental performance services.  Athletes also receive financial subsidies to assist with training and competition costs.  Ontario Cycling also provides “Rising Stars” programming to conduct talent identification, develop skills and race tactics, and educate athletes on off-bike habits.  In 2025, Rising Stars camps and programs were hosted in track, road, MTB, and BMX.
Over the past 5 years, thanks to the great work of our clubs/teams and coaches, Ontario athletes have achieved tremendous international success.
