Google has announced a new feature called Game Trials for Google Play Games. The feature allows users to try the full version of certain paid games for free before deciding whether to purchase them.

If players choose to buy the game after testing it, their progress will carry over so they can continue playing from where they left off. Game Trials will initially roll out to select paid mobile games and will later expand to Google Play Games on PC.

Buy Once, Play Anywhere

Google is also introducing a cross-platform purchase option for some games. With this feature, users can buy a title once and access both the mobile and PC versions.

The company describes this approach as “buy once, play anywhere.” The feature is already being introduced for titles in the Reigns series, as well as OTTTD and Dungeon Crawler.

Community Posts for Players

Google Play is also launching Community Posts for dozens of popular games in English.

The feature provides a space within Google Play where players can exchange tips and tricks related to specific games. Google said support for additional languages and more games will arrive in the future.

AI-Powered Sidekick Overlay

Starting today, Google is also introducing Sidekick for select paid games downloaded from Google Play.

Sidekick is an in-game overlay that provides curated gaming information along with AI-generated tips to help players while they are playing.

More Paid Games Coming to Play

Google also plans to expand its game catalog with more paid titles. Over the coming months, several indie games are expected to arrive on Google Play.

These include Moonlight Peaks, Sledding Game, and Low Budget Repairs. The upcoming titles will support both mobile and PC versions with synchronized progress between platforms.
