Former NRL and Queensland State of Origin player Chris Walker has been arrested on the Gold Coast in relation to alleged domestic violence offences, Queensland Police have confirmed.

The 46-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday night after police were tipped off that a man wanted for alleged domestic violence offences was “hiding in a backyard” in Currumbin Waters.

Police attended an address shortly after receiving the information and located him there.

No charges have been laid at this time, and police say Walker is assisting with ongoing inquiries.

Walker, a Brisbane-born athlete, is a well-known figure in Australian rugby league.

He represented Queensland in State of Origin and played for multiple clubs, including the Brisbane Broncos, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Sydney Roosters, Melbourne Storm, Gold Coast Titans, and Parramatta Eels.

Police have not released any additional details about the alleged offences.

Domestic violence remains a serious issue in Queensland, with police encouraging anyone affected to seek support or report incidents.
