One of the most decorated T20 teams in history, the Mumbai Indians have begun their preparations for the new IPL season. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene was part of the team’s many arrivals as the five-time champions go into a training camp ahead of their first game, against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede stadium on March 29.
Several of their players were spotted in a video on the MI Instagram page, including legspinner Mayank Markande, Raghu Sharma, who was brought on a a replacement player for Vignesh Puthur last year, Naman Dhir, who made 252 runs at a strike rate of 182.60 in IPL 2025 and Danish Malewar, a top-order batter who is one for the future.
Mumbai won eight out of their 14 matches last season and made it to Qualifier 2 where they were beaten by Punjab Kings.
