Dungloe Boxing Club’s Ellis O’Donnell has claimed an All-Ireland boxing title.
She was crowned winner in the Junior 1 57kg category, defeating her opponent Bernadette Delaney at the National Stadium yesterday.
O’Donnell boxed three perfect rounds, taking a unanimous decision victory over her County Tipperary opponent.
Her club congratulated her on the massive achievement, saying she left “no doubt” as to who the victor was in the ring.
“Massive congratulations to Ellis O’Donnell on winning the all Ireland boxing title!,” Dungloe BC said.
“Ellis boxed brilliantly throughout and left the judges in no doubt as to who won.”
“She had to fight hard and fight smart against a very strong and aggressive opponent but she kept her composure winning all three rounds.”
