If Eddie Hearn is to be believed, then Tom Aspinall is set to surpass a recent UFC fight purse with commercial deals alone.
Aspinall stunned MMA fans when he signed a talent agency deal with Matchroom’s Hearn. The partnership was announced not long after Zuffa Boxing signed Conor Benn to a one-fight deal. Benn and Hearn had been in business together for a decade.
Hearn hasn’t been shy in expressing his shock upon discovering Aspinall’s recent fight purses. During an interview with iFL TV, the top boxing promoter claimed that Aspinall will be getting paid more for commercial deals than one of his recent UFC fights (via MMAFighting).
“We are closing in on a number of deals for Tom Aspinall,” Hearn revealed. “Commercial deals where I would say UFC fighters have got to understand the job that we’ll be doing. Tom Aspinall, having been with Matchroom Talent Agency for what will be 10 days to two weeks, he will make more money in commercial deals than he did for one of his recent fights.
“Within 10 days of working with Matchroom. Once of his recent fights, in the last four fights. So they’re leaving a lot of money on the table.”
Aspinall is the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion. As of late, he’s been at odds with UFC CEO Dana White. Aspinall believes White insinuated that his eye issues weren’t as serious as he was letting on. Aspinall had to undergo double eye surgery after Ciryl Gane accidentally poke him in both eyes during their UFC 321 clash back in Oct. 2025.
While Aspinall recovers, UFC has booked an interim heavyweight title fight. Former light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will collide with Gane at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14. The winner will be due an undisputed title fight against Aspinall down the line.
