In May 2025, Council resolved to acquire the land for public open space and classify it as Community Land (land designated for public use, like a park or sports ground and cannot be sold).
Council is accepting submissions in regard to classifying the land as Community Land. It is currently zoned as C4 Environmental Living, which still allows low-density residential homes.
