The US entertainment giant that owns Network Ten has held discussions to outsource its entire Australian sales arm as it considers going all-in for the NRL broadcast rights, with one of its key global executives jetting in to watch the sport’s opening games in Las Vegas.
Paramount Global’s president of global distribution, Kevin MacLellan, joined Foxtel Group chief executive Patrick Delany and Nine Entertainment chief Matt Stanton alongside Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys at the code’s season launch in Nevada last month, according to two sources with knowledge of those in the corporate box.
