A man has been arrested in relation to a death in western Victoria.
The man was arrested after an incident in Horsham’s main street last night.
Victoria Police said a man’s body was found in Jung, near Horsham, on the eastern side of the Henty Highway near Finlayson Road, just after 9am on Monday.
Police said the man was believed to be about 60 years old, but had yet to be formally identified.
The cause of his death was to be yet determined, but was being treated as suspicious.
Last night, police were notified of a man behaving erratically on Firebrace Street in Horsham, about 300 kilometres west of Melbourne, at about 8pm.
Police negotiated with the man, who was armed with a knife, before the 49-year old from Minyip was arrested at about 11pm.
The man was taken to hospital and is expected to be interviewed by homicide squad detectives.
The Henty Highway between Dooen School Road and Horsham-Minyip Road re-opened this morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
