Producers in discussion with local council to extend access to Murwillumbah NSW location.
British Reality TV producers are reportedly trying to lock down the Australian site for I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here for 5 years.
The location, in Murwillumbah NSW, has been used since 2003 -save for pandemic impacted seasons in 2020 / 2021.
It has also been used by Germany, one US season, and the Australian series in 2021.
But producers are seeking to expand upon a 3 year agreement to one of 5 years which requires approval by Tweed Shire Council.
“They will need to seek permission again – we can’t give open-ended filming permissions to anyone,” a representative reportedly said.
The 25th series, hosted by Ant & Dec, is slated to air this Spring, but ITV has yet to officially announce the full roster of celebrity participants.
