Orlando Bloom has listed his longtime Malibu bachelor pad for $US12 million ($A18.5 million) after his split from pop star Katy Perry last year.

The Lord of the Rings actor is selling the four-bedroom house because he hasn’t lived there for several years and has moved further north in California, Realtor reports.

Property records show Bloom bought the home with his then-wife, Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr, in 2011 for about $US2.5 million ($A3.8 million).

The Hollywood star said in an interview the 1970s house was his primary residence for more than a decade.

He completed an extensive renovation on the property. Bloom said the works cost more than twice what he originally paid for the house.

When he first bought the home, Bloom said the ground floor was “a bit higgledy piggledy”. He blew out the floor plan to create an open-plan living room and kitchen.

The actor also added an outdoor pool overlooking the ocean.

Bloom’s son, Flynn Bloom, spent much of his early life at the property.

For years after Bloom and Kerr split in 2013, the Aussie model lived in a home nearby so their son could be close to both parents.

Kerr is now remarried to Snapchat chief executive Evan Spiegel. Property records show she sold her own Malibu house in 2024 for $US4.1 million ($A6.3 million).

Bloom later dated Katy Perry for close to a decade. The pair confirmed their split last year.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star said he is reluctant to let go of the Malibu house.

He rented it out last year and realised he was likely not going back there.

“It felt like it might be the right time to let it go,” he said.

The home is located in a gated community and features interiors by artist Roy McMakin.

The property has a “Japanese feel” and is filled with bold colours, including sea-foam green kitchen cabinets and Mexican tiles.

It also features a garage where Bloom kept his collection of motorcycles.

“Right out the door, you’ve got the most amazing drives through the Malibu canyons,” he said.

While Bloom and Perry were together, an entity tied to the couple closed on a home in Montecito in 2024.

That purchase followed years of battling entrepreneur Carl Westcott in court over the property. It is not clear if Bloom still has ownership of that home.

Listing agent Chris Cortazzo said the Malibu market has been busy in recent weeks.

“Everything has calmed down” following the wildfires last year, he said.
