Jake Paul is already planning a return to the boxing ring. The YouTuber-turned-boxer’s last match ended in a brutal knockout at the hands of Anthony Joshua. Paul has undergone two surgeries to repair the broken jaw he suffered during that loss.
“You won’t expect this one hahahaha – announcement coming in 2 days March 18th,” Paul teased with a recent post online.
One thing Paul’s fans can be almost certain of is that we’re not going to see a rematch with Joshua. Nakisa Bidarian, who co-founded Most Valuable Promotions with Paul, has recently stated the boxer will return to the cruiserweight division. He stepped up in weight class to face Joshua.
Nevertheless, any potential fight would need to be scheduled for the tail end of 2026, at the earliest. Paul is still recovering from his most recent surgery and will be unable to participate in a fight camp for quite some time.
Still, you have to tip your cap to Paul. He may have transitioned into the world of professional boxing, but it isn’t something he’s done for his entire life. So, having the fortitude to pick himself up after such a brutal loss, and be willing to get back in the ring, is admirable.
Jake Paul Has a Four-Man Hitlist
During a March 13 interview with President Donald Trump, which has been posted to Paul’s YouTube channel, Paul detailed the four opponents he would like to face.
“I need to go and stay at my weight class. Maybe do some MMA—we’re promoting fights now on Netflix; we got Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano.” Paul said when Trump asked if he would fight Joshua for a second time. “Maybe [Oleksandr] Usyk in MMA, Francis Ngannou, Ryan Garcia, maybe Tommy Fury —there’s a lot.”
Given the payday that comes with facing Paul, he’s unlikely to struggle when seeking out an opponent. Stepping in the ring with “The Problem Child” is a guaranteed payday. However, after his loss to Joshua, Paul would be wise to ease back into a big-time match. As such, his next opponent should be more of a tune-up fight, otherwise, he could find himself back on the shelf again before the end of the year.
