Scallywag NRL superstar Cameron Munster has delivered a special gift and some heartfelt advice to pregnant Today show co-host Sarah Abo.
A tearful Abo, 40, announced on-air that she was having a baby with husband Cyrus Moran last week.
Storm and Maroons five-eighth Munster, himself a father of three, appeared on the Today show to offer Abo congratulations and some cheeky advice on parenting.
“Sarah look, just enjoy the ride, it’s a rollercoaster,” Munster said.
“When you think you got everything right, something hits you right in the face.”
The little one’s footy allegiances may have been chosen for him, as Munster and Today’s Danika Mason presented Abo with an adorable mini Melbourne Storm playing kit.
“You guys have very kindly gifted a new present to the family,” Mason said.
“Little Abo has a brand new outfit.”
Munster was also not short on baby name recommendations.
“I know you are having a boy, and I think a beautiful name would be either ‘Cameron’ or maybe even ‘Munster’ as a first name,” he said.
“Having a first child is the best thing you ever can do.
“I know Sarah has had some great times being a producer and person on the panel.
“I’ve done some great things in my life with footy and I think the best thing I’ve ever done was have a child.
“Congratulations Sarah.”
Abo and Mr Moran have been married since 2012, and while she is joyous about becoming a mother-to-be, she conceded the journey there wasn’t the easiest.
“I know, it’s obviously very happy news and everything … It hasn’t been the easiest journey to get here,” she said last week.
“It’s not as easy as you sometimes think that pregnancy will be.”
