Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence star in an upcoming feature directed by Martin Scorsese.

Principal photography for Martin Scorsese’s What Happens at Night starring and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, is underway in the Czech Republic for Apple TV.

A first look photo has been released.

The cast also includes Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, Jared Harris and Welker White.

Hailing from Apple Studios, and made in partnership with StudioCanal, the dream-like story follows a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. The feature is adapted from the novel of the same name by Peter Cameron.

Scorsese will direct and produce for Sikelia Productions. DiCaprio, Lawrence and Daniel Lupi also serve as producers. Executive producers are Lisa Frechette and Marianne Bower for Sikelia, Jennifer Davisson for Appian Way, and Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver.

StudioCanal acquired the rights to develop What Happens at Night (a novel by Peter Cameron) originally announcing the project in 2023. Anna Marsh, Shana Eddy Grouf and Aaron Ensweiler executive produce for StudioCanal.

“What Happens at Night” marks the latest collaboration for Scorsese, DiCaprio and Apple Original Films following the history-making and 10-time Academy Award nominated feature “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Lawrence has collaborated with Apple Original Films on projects including “Causeway” and “Bread & Roses,” along with the upcoming murder mystery feature “The Wives” in which she is set to star and produce.
