Aaron Pico vs Patricio Pitbull is a fight that long-time Bellator MMA fans will finally get to see transpire, albeit in a UFC cage, with a former Bellator stalwart thinking the loser of that bout will receive their UFC walking papers. The combatant in question is Adam Borics who battles AJ McKee at PFL Madrid on March 20th.
Borics has a competitive history with both aforementioned fighters in the Bellator MMA cage with the Hungarian falling short to Patricio Pitbull in a featherweight title bout but securing a win over Aaron Pico. When asked for his thoughts on the Aaron Pico and Patricio Pitbull fight at UFC 327 on April 11th, Borics said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yeah, I mean, I think it’s a good matchup. I think they are fighting for the contract. If somebody lose, I think they’re going to cut him. But definitely a good matchup. Pitbull is a legend and I do really think [Aaron] Pico is really, really talented. I mean, I like that guy. It was bad to see him get that knock out [vs. Lerone Murphy]. Because poor guy, I think he’s a cool guy. But it’s definitely a good matchup for fans and both of them, I mean, it’s a 50/50 for me.”
Pico vs Pitbull loser will get released, according to Borics: “UFC works like that…you can get cut easily”
In terms of thinking that the Aaron Pico vs Patricio Pitbull loser will get their pink slip, when asked if that thought was relative to what’s happened with both fighters in recent times or if it was a matter of looking at the landscape with how UFC has seemingly been more prone to cut fighters quicker in recent times, Borics stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I can say both. Because both of them they are like doing not the best way in UFC and UFC works like that. They cut a lot of people and I mean MMA is growing. So many fighters now waiting on the opportunity. Yeah, if you have two or three bad fights, you can get cut easily.”
