Fresh off winning their first match of the 2026 season on Friday night, the Brisbane Broncos have been handed even more positive news.
Placed on report for a Careless High Tackle, centre Kotoni Staggs has avoided suspension from the match review committee (MRC) and will only face a $1000 fine due to the charge being a Grade 1.

Despite being placed on report, teammate Reece Walsh has avoided being charged after being placed on report in the opening half due to a dangerous tackle.
Meanwhile, Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco has avoided a charge after being involved in a gnarly tackle on opposing fullback Dylan Edwards in the club’s 40-4 loss to the Penrith Panthers.
“That should’ve been a sin binning. You’re supposed to let go once you make the tackle,” Steve Roach said on Fox League.
