A little girl was reportedly hit by a golf cart, and then was stuck underneath the cut, in what was described as a “very scary moment” during the third round of the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship.

The girl was struck by a cart beside the par 3 15th at Innisbrook Resort in Florida and was quickly attended to by medical stuff, who thankfully cleared her of any injuries.

Brooks Koepka was one of the first people on the scene.

The incident happened after the former LIV star and his playing partner Danny Walker struck their tee shots.

Professional turned commentator Smylie Kaufmann was the on course reporter and said on the broadcast: “Brooks Koepka went underneath the ropes to talk to the girl and comfort her.”

“She’s going to be okay after medical evaluation,” he continued.

“Very scary moment … I am sure Brooks Koepka’s head is still spinning a little bit.”

Koepka was asked about the incident post-round and how it effected him.

The five-time major winner said he was simply relieved that the girl was okay.

“No, not golf-wise, no. I just felt terrible for, I believe her name is Shay, so from all the reports you’ve got she’s okay, thankfully,” Koepka told reporters.

“So that’s all that matters, as long as she’s okay, I know she’s probably a little scared and I just felt for her at the time. So it’s unfortunate, it shouldn’t have happened, but as long as she’s okay, no, nothing crazy happened to her, then it will be okay.”

Koepka shot an even par 71 to remain at -4 for the tournament.

He sits seven shots back from leader Sungae Im (-11), who carded a two-under par 69 for the second straight round.

Americans Brandt Snedeker and David Lipsky are Im’s nearest rivals at -9.

Australia’s Karl Vilips is even par overall in a share of 48th after a third round 72.
