In recent weeks, speculation has been rife that Zendaya and Tom Holland have secretly gotten married, with Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, fueling the fire at the Actor Awards on March 1, when he told reporters that they’d “missed” the ceremony.

“The wedding already happened,” Law added in a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight. “The wedding’s over, sorry!”

It’s worth noting that Zendaya and Tom have remained tight-lipped about their big day, with Zendaya actively dodging questions attempting to confirm the news. However, she has been spotted wearing what appears to be a wedding band since Law’s comments.

She and Tom got engaged around Christmas 2024, with sources close to the couple confirming the news in early 2025 — after Zendaya wore a huge diamond ring at the Golden Globes.

And it’s fair to say that people were thrilled with this news, with Tomdaya being one of the most beloved couples in Hollywood ever since they went public with their romance back in 2021.

However, their love story actually goes even further back than that, with the two first meeting in 2016 when they were cast as Peter Parker and MJ in Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot.

It was during the promo tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming the following year that fans started to speculate that there was something more going on between them, and when the offscreen chemistry became palpable, People reported in July 2017 that Tom and Zendaya were officially a couple but trying to keep it “private.”

At the time, the costars laughed off the reports and insisted that they were just “best friends.” But after Tom and Zendaya finally confirmed their relationship five years ago, a whole bunch of clips of them on press tours together have resurfaced online — and it’s pretty evident just how down bad they always were for each other.

Zendaya, in particular, often goes viral for these old clips, with fans regularly sharing their shock at how obvious it was that she had a huge crush on Tom. One of the most famous clips was taken from a press junket with French media for Spider-Man: Homecoming in June 2017.

While the interviewer asks a question, Zendaya glances over at Tom before pulling down her cropped jeans. Once she’s caught his attention, she appears to reference an inside joke by doing a dance move that Tom then copies. Clearly thrilled by his response, Zendaya performs a second elaborate move, and Tom looks over at her and politely laughs.

Going in for the kill, Zendaya then performs a third, even more dramatic gesture — only for Tom to completely ignore it. Distracted by the interview, Tom leaves Zendaya hanging as he blanks her and says to the reporter: “Sorry, I didn’t hear the question.” When this first surfaced in 2023, fans were left mortified on Zendaya’s behalf. Another time, also in the summer of 2017, Tom teased Zendaya on Instagram by sharing a picture of himself looking longingly into the distance and writing in the caption: “Stealing hearts since never @zendaya.” She immediately responded by liking the post and commenting six laughing emojis alongside a flirty: “I hate you.”

But that wasn’t enough. She then screenshot the interaction and posted it to X, telling her fans: “I really can’t stand him @TomHolland1996” as she added another four laughing emojis. It has since been noted that Zendaya “liked, commented, screenshotted and tweeted” all within the space of two minutes, with fans being left tickled by her excessive reaction to Tom’s lukewarm joke.

As it happens, there is an even more notable time that Zendaya did the most over one of Tom’s quips, with more footage resurfacing this past weekend that really highlights just how besotted Zendaya was with Tom before their relationship went public — and the moment immediately went viral.

This one took place when the Spider-Man cast — Tom, Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaal, Cobie Smulders, and Jacob Batalon — appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019, shortly after Avengers: Endgame came out. For reference, this is two years after the Spider-Man press tour that kicked off the Tomdaya rumors, and two years before they publicly confirmed their relationship.

During the interview, Jimmy mentioned Tony Stark’s funeral in Endgame, and Tom referenced his reputation for giving away spoilers for his movies by telling the host: “I was told it was a wedding.”

While everybody else politely laughed, Zendaya — who was sitting next to Tom — dramatically spluttered before rocking backwards and forwards, laughing hysterically. She even clapped her hands and lifted her legs in the air as she seemingly struggled to contain how funny she found Tom’s comment.
Sharing a GIF of Zendaya’s reaction to X last week, somebody wrote: “she became a rocking chair over tom saying he thought tony’s funeral scene was a wedding,” and this post has since been seen more than 6 million times — with many sharing their hilarious reactions in the quotes and comments.
