KENNESAW, Ga. — No. 73 Kennesaw State men’s tennis defeated Presbyterian 4-3 on Monday afternoon at Betty Siegel Courts to win its third home match in four days and eighth match in its last nine overall.
The Blue Hose edged the Owls for the doubles point with wins of 7-5 on court one and 7-6 on court three. KSU then rallied back from the 0-1 deficit in doubles with four straight-set wins.
Dominic Ducariu moved to 9-2 on the season in No. 4 singles with a 67-minute 6-0, 6-1 win over Presbyterian’s Eduardo Valentin.
Erik Vladimirov gave the Owls a 2-1 lead as he won his second match in as many days with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Gabriel Godoy on six.
The Blue Hose would secure points with wins on courts one and two, but their success proved short-lived as KSU rolled on three and five.
Nathan Walters won his sixth consecutive match and advanced to 12-2 in singles play this season with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Daksh Prasad on three.
No sooner had Presbyterian taken court one than did Xavi Ferrer quiet the visitors with a match-clinching 6-3, 6-3 win on court five. Ferrer is 9-4 in singles and now boasts five straight wins.
