Apple is testing a standalone app for its Siri voice assistant alongside a new “ask Siri” feature that will work across the company’s software, part of a broader artificial intelligence overhaul.

The new Siri is slated to be unveiled June 8 at the iPhone maker’s Worldwide Developers Conference as part of the iOS 27 and macOS 27 operating systems, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private.
