Amber Technology has launched the redesigned Bluesound PULSE FLEX wireless speaker in Australia, updating a product line that has been on the market for a decade.
The compact speaker is designed for spaces where a larger hi-fi system may not fit, including kitchens, bedrooms and home offices. The new model retains Bluesound’s focus on high-resolution audio and wireless control, while adding a new industrial design and a broader feature set.
Design update
The latest PULSE FLEX is intended for smaller rooms and features rounded edges and a minimalist design aimed at blending more easily into living spaces. It is available in Black Charcoal, White Pebble Grey and White Tan, with optional wall mounts, adjustable floor stands and interchangeable fabric grilles to suit different placements and finishes.
The speaker uses a SmartDSP amplifier with 50 watts of total system output, along with a 4-inch woofer and a 0.75-inch tweeter. It supports playback up to 24-bit/192kHz and includes MQA and DSD256 support.
General Manager Nathan Brady said the PULSE FLEX is aimed at bringing premium wireless audio to spaces where traditional hi-fi systems may not be practical. He said its compact design and flexible placement options allow listeners to enjoy detailed, high-resolution sound throughout the home, while BluOS provides access to streaming services and multi-room music control.
Streaming focus
At the centre of the speaker is BluOS, Bluesound’s software platform for multi-room music streaming. Through the BluOS Controller app, users can access more than 20 integrated music services and internet radio stations, or play audio from personal music libraries.
The PULSE FLEX can be used as a single speaker or paired with a second unit for stereo playback. It can also be added to a wider Bluesound setup for grouped playback across several rooms or separate zones in different listening areas.
Support includes Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Roon. The speaker can also be used as rear surround channels with compatible Bluesound products, including the POWERNODE and PULSE CINEMA soundbars.
Connectivity
Physical and wireless connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, aptX HD Bluetooth, USB-C, and a combined optical and analogue input for external audio sources. The speaker also has touch preset controls for quick access to saved music selections.
The product is compatible with smart home control systems including Crestron, Control4, Nice and RTI. That positions the PULSE FLEX not only as a standalone audio device for households, but also as part of integrated home entertainment and automation installations sold through specialist retailers and installers.
Amber Technology distributes professional audio-visual and media technology products across Australia and New Zealand through resellers, integrators and specialist dealers. The redesigned PULSE FLEX expands its local Bluesound range as wireless speakers remain a key category for consumers seeking simpler home audio systems without extensive cabling.
The speaker will be sold through authorised dealers across Australia.
