Cairns Crocodiles, presented by Pinterest is set to shine a light on one of the biggest challenges facing marketers right now, with a session exploring how brands can grow in what many are calling the “attention recession”.

Titled Growing in the Attention Recession, the session will bring together leading marketers to unpack how brands are cutting through at a time when audiences are overwhelmed, platforms are crowded and reach no longer guarantees impact.

As attention becomes the scarcest currency in modern marketing, the conversation will focus on how brands are earning it through distinctive assets, creative bravery and smarter media choices.

The panel features Kedda Ghazarian, head of marketing at Bonds; Lauren Best, senior marketing manager ANZ at Tonies; and Ally Doube, Asia Pacific marketing director at Uber Eats and Uber.

The session will be moderated by B&T editor Tom Fogden, who said: “Marketers care deeply about their brands. But it’s an unavoidable fact of life that nearly all consumers are completely apathetic about nearly all brands. And given there are more distractions and media channels competing for consumers’ attention, finding a way to cut through and ingrain memory structures is more challenging than ever. This session will give marketers the information they need to navigate the attention recession.”

Together, the panel will explore how brands can move beyond simply being seen to actually being remembered, and why success today depends on standing out with clarity, consistency and creativity.

With marketers under increasing pressure to do more with less attention, the session will offer practical insights into how to capture and hold audience focus in an increasingly competitive landscape.
