India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has reported to BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE), in Bengaluru, for workload management.

ESPNcricinfo has learned that Bumrah is at the CoE primarily to work on strength and conditioning. It is understood that the plan for Bumrah to work at CoE has been devised by the BCCI medical team with the focus on India’s white-ball tour of England in July where they will play five T20Is and three ODIs. Bumrah is understood to be continuing bowling at CoE and will join Mumbai Indians soon to be ready to play their first match of IPL 2026, a home game against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29.

Bumrah had recently played a lead role in India becoming the first team to defend their T20 World Cup title and won the Player-of-the-Match award in the final against New Zealand. India won the final by 96 runs with Bumrah returning 4 for 15 in his four overs.

Bumrah, who has only played for MI in his IPL career, has 186 wickets in 148 outings and is just nine behind the all-time leading wicket-taker for MI, Lasith Malinga.

MI have, meanwhile, started their training at the Wankhede Stadium as they hunt a record sixth IPL title. They last won the trophy back in 2020 and this is their longest wait for the title since they first won it in 2013.
