Fabio Di Giannantonio has pointed out where Aprilia’s advantage lies at the moment compared to Ducati in MotoGP.
Ducati has been MotoGP’s dominant manufacturer this decade, winning every riders’ title since 2022 and every manufacturers’ crown since 2020.
However, Aprilia has been stronger in recent races, not only at the beginning of 2026 but also at the end of 2025.
Marco Bezzecchi now leads the 2026 MotoGP riders’ standings after the Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, and has won the last four races in succession.
Going back to Raul Fernandez’s Australia win last October, Aprilia has won five out of the last six premier class grands prix.

In Brazil, Ducati dominated the sprint, winning with Marc Marquez and finishing second with Fabio Di Giannantonio, while Jorge Martin was the leading Aprilia in third and three seconds off the win.
But that flipped on Sunday, and Aprilia took their first 1-2 finish since Aleix Espargaro led Maverick Vinales at the 2023 Catalan Grand Prix.
In Di Giannantonio’s opinion, Aprilia’s advantage on Sunday came from its superior front-end stability.
“Once the condition gets hot, gets a little slippery with the grip level going low, they can continue to push with the front and enter into the corners with a lot of speed,” Di Giannantonio observed, speaking during the post-race press conference in Brazil.
“I tried to make it [the same entry speed], but we are much more in trouble, our front is much less stable and precise. Once they make this kind of entry, they are better positioned on the exit, so they maximise the exit, too.

“We have to work a lot on the exit side, that we have a really great package for the exit of the corners; as we can always see I can manage the tyres and recover a lot of time and places at the end.
“But it’s not enough to be with them when the conditions are a little bit tough for the grip.
“I think we should improve to have a better bike on the front.”
Di Giannantonio is the leading Ducati rider in the championship after Brazil, three points ahead of Marc Marquez. The VR46 rider is 19 points behind Bezzecchi after two rounds.
