Leigh Leopards forward Owen Trout will join National Rugby League side Cronulla Sharks for the 2027 season.
The England international, who won his first cap against Australia in last year’s Ashes series, has agreed a two-year deal with the Sharks.

The move will bring to an end the 26-year-old’s three-season stint with Leopards, having signed for them in October 2023.
“Owen’s style of play is well suited for success in the NRL,” Sharks’ general manager Darren Mooney told the club website.
“We believe he is at the right stage of his career to make the move.
“He still has a job to do at Leigh, and our focus is firmly on the current NRL season, but we look forward to welcoming him to the club in due course.”
Trout played all 27 games for Leigh in the 2025 Super League season, plus their semi-final play-off loss to rivals Wigan.
