GG Jackson joined an exclusive group on Wednesday, as he became the latest to scale Mt. Victor Wembanyama.
The Memphis Grizzlies’ power forward somehow found a way to evade the long arms of the San Antonio Spurs star for a poster throwdown early in the third quarter of the game at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
Getting it done at the cup against the league’s most terrifying rim protector was no easy task, but Jackson apparently got some coaching at halftime.
Following the game, Jackson revealed that he sought the advice of Ja Morant on how to dunk on the 22-year-old Wemby after getting blocked multiple times by the 2023 first-overall pick.
“You from South Carolina, just go do him,” Jackson said about what Morant told him, via Matt Infield of Action News 5.
Morant was just the right man to seek advice from for Jackson, who played college basketball for the South Carolina Gamecocks. The high-flying Morant can be considered one of the foremost authorities when it comes to throwing it down on Wembanyama, as he’s done it before.
Although Jackson was successful in his dunk attempt, it took just moments before he got his comeuppance, as Wembanyama got him right back in the next possession.
