Late last year, our friends at ProLine Mockups reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves will be among three NBA teams to undergo a full uniform redesign ahead of the 2026-27 season, joining the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets.

That report was seemingly confirmed this week when images of two new logos began circulating on social media, one of which combines their 1989-96 color scheme with the elements from their 2008-17 and 2017-26 secondary logos that both feature a howling wolf.
The other logo, which would presumably be the Timberwolves’ new secondary mark, places a stylized “MINN” wordmark on top of the basketball, North Star and treeline from their new primary mark. This abbreviation was notably used on their 2020-21 City Edition uniforms.
Shortly after the first images were leaked from a sweatshirt at the NBA Store, an online product listing from ’47 Brand that included the new primary logo was also uncovered. It was quickly removed by the retailer, though, suggesting the product went live before it was supposed to.

That said, a redesign shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Timberwolves’ new owners, including former MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez and business partner Marc Lore, hinted that something was in the works during their introductory press conference after purchasing the team last summer.
“We’ve done a lot of work in the background,” Rodriguez said. “I think our fanbase is going to be very, very excited … Bringing back some of the history of the (Kevin Garnett) days is something we’re very aware is important to our fanbase.”
We reported new uniforms/branding for the Timberwolves over 5 months ago (Rockets and Hawks, too).

As for the uniforms that will accompany the new logos, ProLine Mockups also reported that the Timberwolves’ new white Association, royal blue Icon and black Statement Edition designs will feature a “Wolves” wordmark across the chest and incorporate the tree pattern trim from their 1996-2008 set.
